Under the supervision of food safety inspectors, along with independent vets, our dedicated staff use both traditional hand cutting techniques and modern processing innovations to deliver premium meat to customers in New Zealand and around the world. This focus has led us to become one of the leading meat suppliers to butcheries, supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels throughout New Zealand. The ethos “Great Meat, Delivered with Pride” was adopted by our team of over 500 staff to reflect what we believe in, what we do, and what we continually aim to achieve.

Our History

We believe New Zealand’s PRIME beef, lamb and pork is the best in the world. But it isn’t found everywhere, and it requires years of experience and expertise to get that tender, juicy, succulent steak to your plate. Wilson Hellaby is owned by the Syminton and Hellaby families. Both have been delivering meat to New Zealanders for many years, starting on 1 November 1873 with the Hellaby's first butchery opening on Shortland Street.
